I think they should let us take biochem quiz before anatomy quiz for the fact that biochem is worth way more than anatomy. Also, I was having a hard time finishing my biochem quiz as people started leaving... I would not have minded so much if it was just my 0.5% perfect biochem...
I agree with Eddie when we are taking the quizzes the people should stay in their seats rather than start leaving it's quite distracting and ys we should take biochem before
I really do not care if people stay in their seats or if they leave the classroom. My concern is that people started talking and it was very hard to concentrate in the questions. Please either if you decide to leave or stay in your seat do it silently. Remember that there are a lot of people trying to finish the quiz and do their best at the last minute. THANK YOU
I think the biochem quiz should be either weighed less or more questions should be added. Making each quiz worth 10% of the final grade seems to be too much.
This whole not being able to flip back and forth between questions is quite the pain in the butt. Not everyone has instant-recall memory, some need to think about the question first. This makes being stuck on one question a big waste of time. Also, there's nothing worse than not being able to go back to check your answers. My 2 cents..
I agree. I think it is very distracting when people start moving and leaving during a quiz....especially when it's worth 10% of our overall grade. I also think we should have more questions for biochem quizzes because 10 questions doesn't really reflect whether someone really understands biochem.
Let's talk more about using paper on the quizzes. Even a small piece (or notecard) would really help out people who are visual learners. I learn all the nerves and vessels and stuff by drawing them out and it would help to be able to do that for the tests. Also, is anyone interested in trying to get any dates for quizzes etc changed the week of Oct 6? We have Mon: epi midterm and canine quiz Tues: Weekly quiz with Biochem. I know some people have CPR training the weekend before, so maybe it would be helpful to move one of the quizzes (even if just to Wednesday or something?)
Thanks for the input! A couple people have brought this up to us in person as well. We will look into whether or not it is possible to move either the exam or the quiz from Monday to Wednesday and get back to you.
while this blog is really nice and i appreciate you offering your private webpage to the class, it would be great to be able to start a new thread...
this way students make threads such as missing/found items (instead of getting sad emails all the time). Furthermore, students could use the forum to help each other out with classes by asking/responding to questions, clarifying notes, instead of just complaining about the overcrowded lecture hall.
google has groups that you can set up and invite members to join. you can also receive e-mails summarizing the google forum so each student can be as involved as they want. the nyu class of 2012 homepage is a possible solution but im not sure how long that will take to launch.
